Job Description:

As a Marketing Manager, you will be reporting to the Japan Head of Commercial and be responsible for one of our rare diseases portfolio (Bylvay).

Responsibilities will be focused on HCP marketing, include brand planning, development of brand campaign/image, media, and other key promotional initiatives to support brand growth and new product launch. Included in the scope will be KOL engagement, field and Omnichannel integration, sales data analysis, HCP targeting and segmentation, and marketing budget management.

The role will include execution of both personal and non-personal promotional tactics.  And supports the alliance operations managed by IPSEN, ensuring seamless collaboration and operational efficiency.

Core Marketing Activities

  • Contribute to Brand Planning and Tactical Plan development for New Products
  • Support business review, brand performance measurement and review
  • Support development of brand creative campaign for all products including development of campaign tactics
  • Develop strategic training plan with the aim of developing best-in-class Rare disease sales organization
  • Lead key initiatives including Omnichannel KOL programs, advocacy plan, etc.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for brand tactical plan and communicate performance vs leading and lagging indicator to Rare disease leadership
  • Ensure compliant execution of all promotional activities.

Cross Functional Leadership / Collaborate with

  • Field leadership to provide support with sales force execution and other business needs.
  • Marketing& Sales teams on brand promotional development, execution and performance management
  • Sales leadership and Training team on brand promotional plan development, execution and performance
  • Promotional review committee to ensure compliant development of field resources in line with the strategy
  • Incorporate insights from primary and secondary research into development of field promotional tactics
  • Work with advanced analytics to ensure appropriate understanding and implementation of brand strategy

Knowledge & Experience

  • At least 5 years of Japan pharmaceutical company experience, with at least 2 years of Rare Disease exposure, ideally including launch planning experience
  • Demonstrates a strong entrepreneurial spirit, driving innovation with passion and resilience to pursue new pharmaceutical marketing opportunities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence others
  • Ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong scientific/medical aptitude, ideally including experience and knowledge of Rare Disease with complex science and reimbursement.
  • Demonstrated success in project, vendor, and experience managing large budgets.
  • Working within an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics, programs and tools that achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong preference for candidates with pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Experience in developing strategic and operational plans preferred

Education / Certifications:

  •  Bachelor of Life-science/Pharmaceutical/Business or a similar discipline is required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Language(s):

  • Proficient in Japanese with excellent fluency. Business-level proficiency in English is required.
