United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR) seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF).

The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create manufactured organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option.

Who You Are

The Senior Pricing & GTN Forecasting Manager, Market Access will play an integral role in supporting United Therapeutics product pricing and contracting strategy. This position will play a critical role in supporting ongoing pricing decisions for existing and pipeline products. This role requires strong analytical skills and knowledge of gross-to-net (GTN) forecasting with an in-depth understanding of the US pharmaceutical market dynamics and both commercial and government payers.

  • Develop and execute Market Access gross-to-net (GTN) forecasting to operationalize forecasting processes, tools, and methodologies, with accountability for ensuring strategic rigor, consistency, and efficiency across pricing and GTN activities. Partner crossfunctionally with Finance, Legal, Distribution and Trade, Sales Analytics, and Marketing Business Insights to drive alignment, data quality, transparency, and decisionready outputs across Market Access pricing and GTN workflows
  • Own the design, maintenance, and continuous evolution of Market Access GTN forecasting models for inline and pipeline products by evaluating complex pricing and access scenarios, identifying key value drivers, assessing implications of policy and contracting strategies, and consolidating crossfunctional inputs to establish consistent, defensible, and forwardlooking GTN assumptions
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations that enhance organizational understanding of Market Access GTN drivers and improve communication with stakeholders across the Company by translating complex analyses into clear, decisionready insights
  • Maintain expertlevel knowledge of Company products, therapeutic areas, and Market Access pricing strategies to support advanced scenario planning, strategic decision support, and pricesetting recommendations related to Market Access strategy and execution
  • Support Finance and Accounting teams with Market Access–related accruals, including those tied to Managed Care, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and other government payer adjustments, serving as a subjectmatter expert for GTN assumptions and methodology within Market Access
  • Conduct analyses on policy, pricing, and market changes, translating external and internal findings into actionable insights and recommendations that inform Market Access strategy, financial outcomes, and operational execution
  • Contribute to brand planning, lifecycle management, and launch readiness by translating analytical insights into strategic recommendations that shape Market Access and crossfunctional decision making
  • Prepare clear, concise materials for senior leadership to support Pricing Committee reviews and other governance processes by independently synthesizing complex GTN analyses and recommendations

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, statistics or other relevant quantitative field with 10+ years of combined experience in pricing, forecasting, data analytics, data system development, and/or accounting
  • Master’s Degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, statistics or other relevant quantitative field with 8+ years of combined experience in pricing, forecasting, data analytics, data system development, and/or accounting
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry and
  • 3+ years of relevant experience maintaining financial, distribution, or gross to net forecast models
  • Experience in pharmaceutical commercial forecasting, including pipeline and launch planning
  • Proven ability to develop and implement advanced analytics, with the communication and presentation expertise necessary to deliver actionable insights to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders with concise, data-driven recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in high-volume data modeling and cloud-based analytics using MS Excel, Azure Cloud compute, and SSMS; skilled in leveraging Excel formulas, SQL, JavaScript, and Power BI to transform multi-input financial data into actionable insights
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and reliability in outputs
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and manage relationships with partners across the organization
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to integrate market intelligence and cross-functional input into forecasting processes
  • Working knowledge of U.S. payer system, reimbursement models, and governmental programs

Job Location

This position will be located in the RTP, NC office of United Therapeutics. Currently this job is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office. In office requirements could increase based on business needs.
