This role is designed for experienced data scientists who are strong problem solvers, creative thinkers, and hands-on builders of scalable analytical solutions, with the ability to generate ideas and translate them into practical impact. In this role, you will apply statistical modeling, forecasting, and predictive analytics to support study planning and trial execution, while owning end-to-end analytical workstreams and contributing to data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with clinical, medical, operational, and analytics stakeholders to translate key business questions into robust analytical approaches and partner with senior team members on solution design, prioritization, and navigating high-ambiguity problem spaces. Overall, this role combines technical depth, scientific thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver meaningful impact across the clinical development portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to solve defined clinical and operational problems across the clinical development portfolio.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis across clinical trial, operational, and related healthcare datasets.
  • Support development of predictive models and analytical workflows for use cases such as enrollment analytics, study operations, and trial performance monitoring.
  • Build and improve data and analytics pipelines in collaboration with engineering and platform teams.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear visualizations, reports, and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to model documentation, validation, and maintenance following team standards and good analytical practices.
  • Partner with clinical, medical, and operational stakeholders to understand business questions and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists and actively participate in knowledge sharing and team development initiatives.
  • Stay current with relevant advances in clinical analytics, machine learning, and applied AI.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, or PySpark for data analysis and modeling.
  • Good understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, forecasting, and related analytical methods.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and large structured datasets; exposure to NoSQL is a plus.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial, healthcare, or real-world data environments is preferred.
  • Ability to structure analytical problems and select appropriate methods for defined use cases.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, or seaborn.
  • Working knowledge of version control and standard model development practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in a structured and fast-paced environment.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning roles.
  • Experience applying statistical and machine learning methods to real-world business or scientific problems.
  • Preferred exposure to healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and delivering analytical outputs in a structured environment.

Good to Have

  • Exposure to clinical trial data, patient journey analytics, enrolment analytics, or operational performance use cases.
  • Familiarity with real-world data sources such as EHR/EMR, claims, or registries.
  • Exposure to MLOps workflows, cloud platforms, or pipeline orchestration tools.
  • Exposure to GenAI, LLMs, or RAG-based workflows in applied analytics settings.
  • Awareness of clinical data standards or regulated data practices is a plus.
  • Exposure to software development practices, including SDLC, API-based workflows, and front-end technologies such as React for building interactive analytical applications.
