The Associate Director, Training, US Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation is responsible for supporting the strategy, planning, and execution of training programs for the US Medical Affairs and Evidence Generation organization, including field medical and internal medical stakeholders.
This role partners closely with Medical Affairs leadership, Medical Directors, MSL Leadership, and cross-functional partners to ensure training programs drive scientific excellence, field readiness, and continuous capability development. Additionally, they will partner with the full US Commercial Training to support the broader argenx training community to execute and sale training initiatives aligned with organizational objectives. The Associate Director, Training, US Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation will report into the Director, US Medical Affairs Training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of US Medical Affairs training strategies aligned to business objectives and Medical Affairs priorities
- Execute annual training plans across disease state, product, competitor, and capability-based training
- Lead implementation of structured onboarding, continuous education, and field readiness programs for field medical teams
- Proactively partner with Medical Directors and MSL Leadership to identify training needs
- Translate identified learning needs into scalable, effective training solutions for all employees at all levels of the community
- Participate in planning of commercial product launches and work with cross-functional team members to identify training needs
- Support mastery validation, knowledge assessments, and skill-based evaluations across the Medical Affairs community
- Evaluate training effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative metrics; recommend enhancements based on outcomes
- Promote adult learning principles, interactive learning, and innovative training methodologies
- Support special projects and initiatives related to Medical Affairs training and capability building
- Support management of training-related vendors, platforms, and tools
- Assist with training budget tracking and vendor oversight
- Participate in internal audits and readiness reviews to ensure training compliance and consistency
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of Medical Affairs functions in biotech or pharmaceutical organizations
- Robust scientific or clinical background with capability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of complex disease areas
- Demonstrated experience executing training programs for field medical or internal medical teams
- Ability to create a positive learning environment, conveying objectives clearly, encouraging, and motivating trainees
- High attention to detail with strong compliance and operational rigor
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective teaching methodologies
- Key attributes: proactive learner, detail oriented, growth mindset, humility, high emotional intelligence, and collaborative
Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD)
- 5+ years biopharmaceutical, clinical, or post-graduate experience; including 3+ years of Medical Affairs field or in-house experience
- Demonstrated experience executing training programs for field medical or internal medical teams
- Experience in neurology, immunology, or rare desire preferred
- Experience with Medical, Regulatory, and Legal review process
- Excellent analytical, planning, program design and critical thinking skills with the ability to create, administer and evaluate training programs for effectiveness
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, operational rigor, and effective time management
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Familiarity with learning management systems and training platforms a plus
- Remote US-based role; ability to travel for activities including national/regional meetings and training classes as business needs require
