As an Associate Director, Service Strategy you will play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. North America Commercial is the ‘face’ of AstraZeneca to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
The Associate Director, Service Strategy is accountable for supporting the design of bona fide service strategies that align with Brand and Therapeutic Area Access Strategies for launch and in-line products. The Associate Director will closely partner with key stakeholders across numerous functions (including Access Strategy, Access Services, Contract Strategy, Market Access Customer Facing teams, Legal, Compliance, Medical Affairs and Market Access Contracting and Governance).
Accountabilities
Responsible for supporting the development of customer segment specific services and strategies across the OBU and BBU portfolios
Work cross-functionally with Access Strategy and Market Access teams (Contract Strategy, Customer Facing teams) in developing services and programs in support of brand and patient initiatives
Support Access Strategy in the development of product distribution and dispensing recommendations
Partner with Market Access Governance team to provide stakeholders with support through the ACERT governance process, including fair market value (FMV) assessment, and contracting
Develop deep understanding of bona fide service fee (BFSF) criteria, CMS rules, PBM reform and applicable Safe Harbor regulations to educate and assist key stakeholders in the design and implementation of service strategies
Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure service strategies remain compliant with industry regulations and standards (Anti-Kickback, Safe Harbor, False Claims)
Monitor and evaluate shifts and changes in the marketplace environment and proactively make recommendations on service strategies
Coordinate with team on activities related to contract writing ensuring brand and strategy intent is accurately reflected
Partner cross functionally to identify opportunities to streamline, consolidate and automate
Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of pharmaceutical or related healthcare business
Market Access experience and understanding of healthcare delivery
Demonstrated strategic & relationship building skills
Demonstrated ability gain consensus and act within a matrix team environment
Desirable Skills/Experience
MBA
Specialty product knowledge desired
Previous knowledge of bona fide service fee safe harbors
Understanding of AZ business model with specific knowledge of brand team operations and planning
Established relationships with key business partners such as Brand Access Strategy, Market Access Customer Facing teams (GPO, Channel, Specialty Pharmacy), Access Services, Contract Strategy, Legal, Compliance, Market Access Operations)
