The Role & Your Impact
As a Senior Project Specialist, you will act as the User Manager (UM) in CAPEX and technology projects, representing production and user needs throughout the full project lifecycle. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and user groups, you will ensure that project scope, requirements, and business cases are clearly defined, aligned with GMP/EHS standards, and successfully delivered from concept to handover.
Your work will directly support process optimization, capacity expansion, and the successful introduction of new technologies within Novonesis manufacturing.
Your Key Responsibilities Include
User Management & CAPEX Project Ownership
- Act as User Manager in investment projects, working closely with user groups and project managers to ensure projects deliver the expected outcomes and business benefits
- Lead user management activities across definition, design, execution, and handover phases of CAPEX projects
- Ensure user, GMP, EHS, and engineering requirements are clearly translated into high‑quality IA documentation (e.g. URS, project charter, business justification)
- Ensure TDP inputs are collected, matured, and validated, with robust and well‑verified business cases
Documentation & Best Practices
- Continuously improve the quality and consistency of IA documentation
- Build and maintain guidance, templates, and best practices for user management and investment projects
- Participate in and help facilitate the Technology Development Plan (TDP) process and project pipeline
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with project managers and engineering teams through regular on‑site and face‑to‑face collaboration
- Engage with production, process engineering, maintenance, quality, safety, and environmental teams as a core member of cross‑functional project groups
- Collaborate with global technology managers through online meetings and email communication
- Coordinate with external design and automation partners, both on‑site and remotely
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing plant
- Proven experience acting as User Manager or key user representative in investment or CAPEX projects
Technical & Professional Skills
- Solid understanding of production equipment and manufacturing processes
- Experience with processing systems, capacity expansion, or new plant design is a strong advantage
- Strong project management capability with the ability to balance quality, cost, schedule, and scope
- Good communication skills and the ability to translate technical and user requirements into structured documentation
- Good command of English (spoken and written)
