Job Summary The VP, Head of Field Force Enablement & Excellence is responsible for building and leading a centralized capability that enables best-in-class performance across all US field sales teams. This leader will drive sales force effectiveness, training, incentive compensation, analytics, and operational excellence to maximize execution in market and support sustained growth across Oncology and Immunology portfolios. This role is a critical pillar of the US Commercial model, ensuring consistent, scalable capabilities that reduce duplication, elevate field performance, and enable data-driven decision-making Key Responsibilities 1. Field Force Effectiveness Strategy Define and execute the enterprise-wide field force effectiveness strategy across all brands and therapeutic areas Ensure alignment with commercial objectives and P&L leaders while maintaining centralized excellence Drive continuous improvement in field productivity, targeting, and execution 2. Sales Training & Capability Development Build and lead a centralized learning & development (L&D) organization supporting all field teams Oversee: Sales training (content delivery, capability development, learning partners) Leadership development (with focus on first-line leaders) Integrate innovative approaches, including AI-enabled learning and engagement strategies 3. Incentive Compensation (IC) Lead design and execution of incentive compensation programs across field teams Ensure alignment with strategic priorities, fairness, and performance differentiation Drive transparency and consistency across brands 4. Sales Reporting & Performance Management Establish a centralized sales reporting and performance function Deliver standardized performance tracking, dashboards, and insights Enable sub-national execution visibility and decision-making across teams 5. Field Analytics & Operations Oversee field analytics and operations including: Territory design & alignment Call planning & targeting Field operations (e.g., fleet, compliance/audit) Leverage data to optimize deployment and maximize ROI 6. Leadership Capabilities & Innovation Build advanced leadership capability programs for sales leaders Champion innovation, including: AI-driven engagement strategies New tools and approaches to enhance field effectiveness Serve as a change leader for modernizing field execution 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with: Sales & Marketing leaders (P&L owners) Business Analytics (data, AI, insights) Market Access and Patient Services Ensure capabilities are embedded and adopted effectively in the field Qualifications 15+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech commercial roles Significant leadership experience in sales operations, field effectiveness, or commercial excellence Proven track record leading large, cross-functional teams Experience building centralized capabilities or Centers of Excellence preferred Capabilities Deep expertise in: o Sales force effectiveness o Incentive compensation design o Field analytics and operations Strong strategic thinking with execution focus Experience leveraging data, analytics, and AI to drive performance Ability to influence senior stakeholders and P&L leaders Leadership Strong people leader with experience building high-performing teams Change management and transformation leadership experience Ability to operate in a matrixed, fast-paced environment Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job.
