Role Overview

The Master Data Steward - Data Sustainment (Electronic Monitoring) is responsible for end-to-end stewardship and sustainment of material master data for electronic monitoring finished products. This role manages geo-expansion material setup requests, coordinates sustainment approvals with marketing and commercial teams, oversees cross-functional material setup activities with Transfer Pricing (TP), Costing (COSI) and Financial Supply Chain (FSC) teams, and monitors ongoing material maintenance for FSC changes, vendor transitions, and ad-hoc requests routed through the master data technology solutions team. The steward ensures data integrity, compliance with business rules and timely execution of sustainment activities to support commercial and regulatory needs.

What will you do in this role

  • Receive, triage and prioritize material master data setup and sustainment requests for geo-expansion of electronic monitoring finished products.
  • Coordinate sustainment request approvals with marketing and commercial stakeholders; obtain timely sign-offs and maintain audit trails.
  • Lead end-to-end material master data setup activities with TP, COSI and FSC teams: clarify requirements, assign tasks, track progress and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and manage material master data maintenance for FSC changes, vendor shifts, product discontinuations and other ad-hoc updates.
  • Validate data accuracy and completeness for material creation and changes; enforce data quality rules and governance standards.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, SOPs and checklists for sustainment activities.
  • Identify recurring data issues and collaborate with data owners and IT/systems teams (MDG, SAP) to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide regular reporting and KPIs on material request volumes, cycle times, backlog and data quality to stakeholders.
  • Train and advise stakeholders on material sustainment policies and submission requirements.

  • Data quality focus: strong attention to detail and commitment to governance and accuracy.
  • Organized and proactive: ability to manage multiple concurrent requests, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Systems knowledge: proficiency with ticketing (JIRA) / mailbox handling, Excel and common MDM/ERP systems (MDG, SAP MM03, SE16, Other custom T-codes), AI tools.
  • Communication: excellent written and verbal skills in English; able to manage stakeholder expectations and provide clear status updates.
  • Problem solver: ability to identify root causes, drive corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Process improvement mindset: familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or data governance frameworks is a plus.
  • Regulatory awareness: understanding of compliance considerations affecting product master data.

What should you have

  • Hands-on experience with SAP master data processes and tools (e.g. SAP MDG, MM03, SE16 and other relevant T-codes).
  • Proven experience in material master data management / data sustainment, preferably in a regulated or commercial environment.
  • Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. marketing, commercial, finance, supply chain, IT).
  • Strong understanding of product identification and lifecycle processes (e.g., material master, material setup and changes).
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on data quality, accuracy and governance compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests in parallel, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Proven ability to validate data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance against governance standards.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, validate data and ensure completeness.
  • Structured problem-solving capability to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic data analysis/reporting.
  • Comfortable working in a global, distributed team across regions and cultures.

Primary Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with ticketing systems (e.g. JIRA or similar) and structured request intake via mailbox-based handling.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or data governance frameworks applied to data operations.
  • Experience in data governance frameworks, data stewardship models or sustainment operating models.
  • Experience creating or maintaining SOPs, process documentation and operational checklists.
  • Exposure to regulatory or compliance considerations impacting product master data.
  • Ability to produce KPIs and operational reporting (e.g., cycle time, backlog, data quality metrics).
  • Interest in or experience with automation and AI-enabled tools in data operations to support data analysis and operational efficiency.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Management, Supply Chain or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in master data management, product data sustainment or related operations in a regulated or commercial environment.
  • Familiarity with product identification processes (e.g., material master setup) and product life-cycle management preferred.
