Location: Europe (remote) – ideally based in France

As Director / Senior Director, Business Development – Mammalian, you will have primary responsibility for business development and sales in Europe. This is a key commercial role for a candidate who is motivated by customer engagement, market growth, and long-term relationship building across diverse European markets. The role is a key member of the Global Business Development Team. You will in this role report to Ben Clauberg, Vice President, Business Development – EU/Global BD.
A commercial role with broad impact
You will identify, initiate, lead, and close contracts for new projects with both new and existing clients, promoting company visibility, growth, and profitability. You will formulate and implement strategies to substantially increase revenue and market share in the region and develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve annual sales targets through new deal acquisition.
You will establish contact and develop proposals with prospective and existing clients that meet target profiles, visit clients, and communicate company capabilities effectively. The role also includes facilitating site visits, coordinating follow-up communication, and leading the closing process for new business opportunities.
You will also contribute to the development of an effective regional marketing plan, build strong internal and external relationships, maintain accurate records in the CRM system, and collaborate with internal teams across all sites to support successful handoff and execution of new projects. In addition, you will provide market intelligence from client interactions, coordinate technical, legal, and financial due diligence activities, and represent AGC Biologics at trade shows, conferences, and business meetings.

What we are looking for
- 5–8+ years of proven success in Business Development or Sales, preferably within the CMO/CDMO industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related technical area is preferred
- Highly effective written, verbal, and presentation-driven communication skills
- Ability to adjust communication style easily to suit different audiences and contexts
- Established network of industry contacts within the biopharmaceutical sector is preferred
- Willingness to travel globally to AGC Biologics sites and client locations, approximately 50% of the time
