The team works with enzyme purification using ÄKTA systems and supports a large and diverse project portfolio. With strong team spirit and close day‑to‑day collaboration between scientists and laboratory technicians, we contribute directly to advancing the Novonesis pipeline and purpose.
The Role & Your Impact
In this 2‑year position as Research Associate or Senior Research Associate, you will be a key contributor to enzyme purification activities supporting more than 56 projects each year. The role is operational and hands‑on, with a strong focus on quality, ownership, and stakeholder collaboration.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Operating ÄKTA PURE and ÄKTA Avant purification systems
Programming and running purification methods in Unicorn 7.10 or newer versions
Ensuring strong stakeholder alignment on purification tasks and timelines
Working independently and taking responsibility for your own tasks once aligned with scientists
Contributing actively as a team player in a highly collaborative laboratory environment
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
Education as a laboratory technician
Hands‑on experience with laboratory work and purification equipment
Solid experience operating ÄKTA systems and writing methods in Unicorn software
Proficient at basic protein characterisation using SDS-PAGE and/or LabChip plus NanoDrop
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for agreed tasks
A structured and quality‑focused approach to laboratory work
Additional Skills & Interests We Value
While not required, the following will be considered an advantage:
Experience working in a research or R&D laboratory environment
Tecan programming
Brooks robotic freezer maintenance
Hands on fermentation experience
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple internal stakeholders
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Working Conditions
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week
Fixed core hours between 09:00–15:00, with flexible scheduling outside these hours
Primarily on‑site role in Lyngby, with the option to work from home when all laboratory work is completed
The role involves physical activity, including prolonged standing and handling samples
Some laboratories are located in the basement
Standard laboratory equipment noise while operating the ÄKTA systems
