Position Overview
The Market Access Manager is reporting to one of the Market Access Leads and is accountable for shaping, driving, and executing end-to-end market access strategies across the product lifecycle.
She/he will proactively develop pricing and reimbursement strategies for our products, new products, line extensions, off-patent products, revisions … in order to achieve and maintain favorable reimbursement conditions for the patients, within defined timeframe and aligned with business and patient value objectives, with a focus on pharma, oncology and vaccines.
Key Result Areas & Tasks
Analyze the therapeutic value of our innovative therapies versus their expected impact on the health insurance budget to propose sustainable, value-based price and reimbursement modalities, including managed entry agreements and innovative contracting where relevant.
Develop long-term price and reimbursement strategies to ensure the company’s drugs maintain competitive positioning throughout their lifecycle.
Develop and communicate compelling value propositions tailored to payer and other stakeholder needs using robust clinical, economic and real-world evidence;
Develop and oversee the execution of an early stakeholder engagement plan in collaboration with the Policy Mgrs, V&I Mgr, Regulatory Affairs Mgr, Medical Affairs Mgr, Patient Engagement Mgr
Ensure a stakeholder focused engagement approach towards the members of the price and reimbursement commissions and NIHDI;
Collaborate with local colleagues from External Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Medical and Market Research, to align on market access strategies, coordinate local actions and ensure the collection and analysis of fit for purpose evidence (including RWE, epidemiology and market research)
Consult and inform regional/ international colleagues about local execution plans and status of price and reimbursement files to obtain support and guidance.
Lead the Flow Team Meetings ensuring clear decision-making, alignment and accountability;
Support the Health Evidence and Outcomes Research Manager in collecting and analyzing health outcome data to provide perspective on effectiveness, costs and broader impact of new and existing treatments enabling decisions to be made by payers around resource allocations;
In close collaboration with Medical, the Patient Engagement Manager and Marketing, seek input from Key Scientific Leaders and, where appropriate, patient organizations to gain insights & strengthen value arguments;
Lead the internal Price Approval Request process
Prepare and submit pricing and reimbursement application files to the relevant authorities, including follow-up on progress and responses to questions from the CRM, to support optimal reimbursement conditions for patients.
Develop the negotiation strategy in collaboration with the respective HEOR Mgr, prepare and attend the reimbursement negotiations with the WG convention in order to achieve sustainable agreements.
Collaborate closely with Pharma.be during all stages of the file development and price/ reimbursement process.
On top of this, the Market Access Manager will:
Contribute to securing favorable and sustainable public policies on access to healthcare;
Work with the Market Access team on strategic analysis of price and reimbursement across the full portfolio to support long-term portfolio and value optimization.
Collaborate closely with the Public Policy Manager to shape public policies on access, identify risks and opportunities, define priorities based on business impact and patient needs;
Build and maintain excellent relationships with key external stakeholders in the BeLux region
Create a strategic dialogue on the health price & reimbursement system through Pharma.be or directly with P&R stakeholders, and advocate for a fair sustainable evolution of the access law;
Benchmark, share best practices and interact efficiently with colleagues from other countries, the region or headquarters
Education, competencies & Experience
University degree (ideally MD, pharmacist, master's in sciences, pharmaco-economist or related, alternative background in finance/ business can also work);
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, a CRO or a healthcare organization (sick fund, NIHDI…) is an asset;
Experience with price and reimbursement management (pharmaceutical industry, NIHDI, sick funds, professional associations…) or experience collaborating strongly with market access (medical, marketing…) with good knowledge of price and reimbursement processes/ rules/ regulations in Belgium / Luxembourg;
Strong market access network skills and strong insights of the market access environment and key stakeholders;
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and timelines simultaneously
Strong interest in health policies and the healthcare system;
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret clinical, economic and policy data into actionable strategies;
Strong oral and written communication skills in Dutch, French and English
