As a Manufacturing Systems Specialist at Lonza’s Greenwood site, you will design, implement, and support advanced manufacturing IT/OT systems that enable safe, compliant, and highly automated operations. What you will do
- Design, develop, implement, and support manufacturing IT/OT systems across their entire lifecycle, from concept through sustained operation.
- Support and enhance systems such as RTLS, RFID, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), vision inspection systems, supervisory control platforms, and custom reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with plant engineering, global controls engineering, global MES, and IT infrastructure teams to ensure reliable 24/7 manufacturing system performance.
- Develop system specifications, interfaces, troubleshooting guidelines, and technical documentation in regulated manufacturing environments.
- Support system testing, validation (GAMP), training documentation, and compliance activities.
- Coordinate and manage external vendors and system integrators when required.
- Act as the site liaison to global teams, ensuring alignment, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
What we are looking for
- Advanced experience (typically 5–10 years) working with manufacturing systems in food processing, pharmaceutical, or closely related regulated industries.
- Strong programming skills using high‑level languages such as C#, C/C++, Python, or similar.
- Experience with control system platforms (PLC/HMI/SCADA); Siemens and GE iFix experience are advantageous.
- Hands‑on experience with manufacturing operations systems such as MES, warehouse management systems, and system integrations.
- Proficiency working with SQL databases (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and data‑driven reporting.
- Ability to analyze business and technical requirements, model processes, and collaborate effectively across cross‑functional and global teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required.
