Job Description

As Regional Access Manager in Portugal, you will define and implement the market access strategy in Portugal, leading the institutional relation with INFARMED and SPMS, to ensure pricing, reimboursement, public contracts and sustainable access to medicines across the country.


Your responsibilities will include:

1. Pricing, Reimbursement and Access Strategy

  • Design and implement the national pricing, reimbursement, and access strategy.
  • Lead the preparation of reimbursement dossiers and negotiations with health authorities.
  • Define tendering strategies and competitive positioning in hospitals.

2. Marketing–Access Integration (Key Role Element)

  • Translate the clinical and economic value proposition into marketing messages targeted at key decision-makers (payers, hospitals, clinicians).
  • Align brand plans and marketing campaigns with access objectives.
  • Coordinate evidence generation (HEOR, value propositions, etc.).

3. Stakeholders & Policy Shaping

  • Build and manage relationships with Ministry of Health, Reimbursement authorities, Hospitals and pharmacy & therapeutics committees
  • Influence policies, clinical guidelines, and biosimilar adoption frameworks.

4. Market and Environmental Analysis

  • Analyze healthcare policies, competitive landscape, pricing and access trends
  • Identify business risks and opportunities.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Coordinate teams across Marketing, Medical, Regulatory, Sales
  • Lead strategic launch projects and lifecycle management initiatives.

6. Launches and Lifecycle Management

  • Ensure access readiness for new product launches.
  • Optimize the positioning of commercially established products.

What you need to bring to the role:

  • University education in a related field
  • Deep knowledge of the Portuguese healthcare landscape and direct relationships with key stakeholders like authorities, regulator, hospitals.
  • Sound experience designing and implementing successful market access strategies.
  • Native Portuguese and fluent English are required.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

Sandoz compensation is determined by job level, qualifications, niche skills, experience, and location within company salary ranges. Fully proficient and highly effective employees can expect a starting salary around market median, with those new to the level or with less functional depth at the lower end of the range and those with sustained superior or niche skills towards the higher end of the range. Internal equity and external market data inform our range placement. Annual salary reviews consider performance outcomes, market alignment, and business needs.
