Job Purpose
The In‑Store Excellence Manager is responsible for ensuring flawless execution across mass market and pharmacy channels, covering visibility, shelving, planograms, POSM deployment, and activation compliance. Reporting to the Shopper & Customer Marketing Lead, this mid‑level manager directly leads the Merchandising Team and works closely with Sales, Shopper & Customer Marketing Managers, Marketing, Supply Chain, and the NRM & SFE team to deliver consistent, high‑quality in‑store execution that supports brand and channel growth priorities.
Key Responsibilities
In‑Store Excellence Leadership
- Own and manage the In‑Store Excellence agenda across mass market and pharmacy channels.
- Ensure perfect execution of visibility, shelving, planograms, and activation standards.
- Maintain execution guidelines, toolkits, and in‑store standards.
- Monitor execution quality through audits, field data, and distributor reports; identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure national consistency in execution across all channels and customer types.
Merchandising Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the Merchandising Team, ensuring strong execution capability.
- Set KPIs, performance standards, and daily/weekly execution routines.
- Manage workload planning, routing, and prioritization for merchandising resources.
- Ensure POSM deployment is timely, accurate, and aligned with activation calendars.
- Drive continuous improvement in merchandising operations through training, tools, and performance management.
Cross‑Functional Alignment
- Partner with Shopper & Customer Marketing Managers to understand shopper strategies, activation priorities, and in‑store requirements.
- Translate these priorities into clear execution plans for the Merchandising Team and field partners.
- Collaborate with the Mass Market Sales Lead to ensure execution supports customer commitments and JBP requirements.
Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement
- Track in‑store KPIs (availability, visibility, share of shelf, compliance).
- Conduct root‑cause analysis on execution gaps and develop improvement plans.
- Lead post‑activation evaluations to measure execution quality and operational ROI.
- Use field insights to recommend improvements to execution processes and tools.
Budget & Resource Management
- Ensure efficient use of merchandising resources and maximize ROI of in‑store investments.
- Manage vendor relationships related to in‑store execution and merchandising.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 5–7 years of experience in in‑store execution, trade marketing, shopper marketing, or field operations.
- Strong understanding of mass market and/or pharmacy channels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret execution data and drive action.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in FMCG, OTC, or consumer healthcare categories.
- Experience working with distributors and multi‑layered execution structures.
- Familiarity with planogram tools, audit systems, or field execution platforms.
