About the role
The Commercial Excellence head role for RSA is a critical role to strategize and enable the flawless delivery of our overall Countries performance and our goal to deliver Better Everyday Health with Humanity. The Commercial Excellence team is at the intersect between the Marketing and Sales organization and is critical to the creation and execution of our commercial plans with trade channels, customers and health care practitioners.
This function is in the lead for creating key go to market strategies such as pricing and promotion whilst also working across multiple functions to determine our sales strategies and growing our commercial capabilities.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver Haleon category strategy for all categories and channels based on shopper insights, category management and trade landscape understanding, acting as the linking point between marketing and sales to ensure achievement of sales and profit targets.
- Own category and shopper marketing, driving recognition of value add with internal and external customers; partner with customers to develop and execute our brands with excellence across on- and offline point of sale.
- Develop the strategy, execute the plan and measure the impact of customer investment (G2N) and sales force efficiency, identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead the execution of our Net Revenue Management strategy across Pricing, Promotion, Mix Management, Pack/Price architecture and Trade Spend Management to ensure profitable growth for Haleon.
- Work as a member of the Leadership Team on countries business goals and execution plans.
- Deliver sales, market share and distribution targets across customers and categories; identify long-term retailer growth opportunities based on customer, shopper and competitive dynamics.
- Provide category and shopper solutions to unlock the aisle and drive profitable growth; champion the shopper perspective across the business.
- Develop commercialization plans that achieve annual brand and sales targets, ensuring category and shopper plans are integrated and supported internally and externally.
- Own pricing and promotion strategy (gross/net) to maximise revenues, ensuring clear pricing architecture across brands, packs and channels; set guardrails and manage cross-channel impacts.
- Develop and deliver category strategies in partnership with marketing and sales; tailor selling stories to drive category growth at key retailers; optimise planograms and shelf layouts to maximise space productivity.
- Bring the brand to life in-store by optimising the impact of marketing programmes at retail and on-shelf; deliver tailored retailer programmes to win with unique shopper cohorts.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales and Finance to define and implement the commercial strategy.
- Lead the Commercial Excellence function, including capabilities across Net Revenue Management, Sales Force Effectiveness, Shopper & Trade Marketing, Category Management and Capability
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Economics, Business, Marketing or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated functional expertise, intellectual capacity and ability to learn
- Leadership across a matrix environment in a complex organisation; strong project management capabilities
- Sales and Marketing experience, preferably at both national account and field sales leadership level
- Experience in driving cultural mindset change and setting/driving a vision
- Prior experience in this market preferred
