Head of Decision Intelligence (DI) is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, delivering, and scaling the enterprise’s DI strategy and capabilities. Leading a global Centre of Excellence (CoE) based in Bangalore, this role ensures that business stakeholders across all markets and functions have seamless access to trusted, actionable insights that drive informed decision‑making.

This leader will oversee the end‑to‑end lifecycle of DI solutions—including design, build, run, enhancement, and governance—while advancing the organisation toward the next generation of business intelligence. This includes leveraging generative AI, agentic AI, automation, advanced analytics, and data science to democratise enterprise data and deliver more intuitive, high‑value insights at speed.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the global DI strategy aligned to enterprise data and AI objectives.
  • Establish the vision for next‑generation DI capabilities, integrating GenAI, agentic AI, conversational intelligence, and automated insight generation.
  • Drive enterprise insight democratization by enabling self‑service analytics, AI‑augmented decision support, and intelligent data discovery tools.
  • Drive global BI standards, architecture, and operating principles to ensure consistency, scalability, and reuse across markets.

Centre of Excellence Leadership

  • Lead a high‑performing global CoE consisting of Power BI developers, BI engineers, UX designers, AI/ML specialists, and data science practitioners.
  • Create an innovation‑focused culture that continuously enhances BI performance, user experience, and automation.
  • Manage global delivery operations, ensuring on‑time, high‑quality execution and run support across all business units.
  • Drive capability uplift across the organisation through community programmes, training, and best‑practice playbooks.

Enterprise BI Build & Run Ownership

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise dashboards, semantic models, data marts, and analytics products.
  • Ensure robustness, scalability, and performance of the DI estate, including adherence to governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead service management processes for DI operations, ensuring global SLAs, incident handling, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with data engineering and platform teams to optimise data pipelines, enterprise datasets, and integration with cloud platforms.

Generative & Agentic AI-Enabled BI

  • Develop and launch AI-enabled DI products, including:
    • conversational analytics and natural language query,
    • automated insight generation,
    • AI agents that support decision-making or triage user analytical needs,
    • proactive insights and intelligent alerts powered by advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate with enterprise AI teams to embed predictive modelling, machine learning, and autonomous agents into BI workflows.
  • Oversee user research and UX design to ensure BI tools are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with business decision flows.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a strategic partner to global, regional, and local business leaders across commercial, supply chain, R&D, finance, HR, and other functions.
  • Translate business strategies into actionable BI initiatives that deliver measurable value and accelerate decisions.
  • Influence and engage senior stakeholders to drive DI adoption and maximise ROI from enterprise data assets.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for major DI programmes and change initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 15+ years in Decision Intelligence, Data & Analytics, or related fields, with at least 5 years in global leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary analytics teams in complex, multinational enterprises.
  • Demonstrated ownership of an enterprise BI platform (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) at global scale.
  • Strong track record integrating data science, machine learning, and generative AI/agentic AI into analytics products.
  • Experience shaping and running a BI or analytics Centre of Excellence, including global delivery and operational processes.
  • Deep expertise in modern BI technologies—ideally Power BI, including DAX, semantic models, Fabric/Power BI service architecture, and governance.
  • Strong understanding of cloud data platforms (Azure preferred), data modelling, and data engineering fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Python/R, AI/ML workflows, GenAI frameworks, and autonomous AI agent patterns is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with UX design principles for data products and insight consumption.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long‑term vision with practical execution.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills across executive and operational levels.
  • Passion for developing talent, fostering innovation, and driving cultural change.
  • High learning agility with a growth mindset, particularly around emerging AI and automation technologies.
