About the Role
The Product Manager – Compensation will be responsible for defining, implementing, and optimizing Compensation systems, primarily Workday, along with related platforms. This role partners closely with product teams and stakeholders, including the Rewards CoE, to ensure compensation solutions are aligned with business requirements, HR processes, and enterprise architecture principles.
The role demands strong functional and technical expertise in Workday Compensation modules to deliver scalable, compliant, and high-impact solutions. The incumbent will also oversee system governance, manage releases, and drive continuous improvements to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
Role Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize Compensation systems (Workday and related tools).
Provide technical expertise and functional guidance to stakeholders, including Rewards CoE, ensuring solutions meet business needs and align with HR processes.
Own and maintain technical documentation such as system requirements, configurations, and design artifacts.
Ensure compliance with internal security, risk management frameworks, and external statutory and regulatory requirements.
Manage system changes and releases, including Workday bi-annual updates, ensuring minimal disruption and high system reliability.
Work with service teams to plan, test, and deploy system enhancements and fixes.
Troubleshoot system issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions or workarounds.
Support global implementations, ensuring effective localization and compliance with regional requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compensation processes and system performance.
Collaborate with third-party vendors and partners for successful delivery of system enhancements and integrations.
Basic Qualifications
Current or prior certification in Workday (Advanced Compensation, Core Compensation, Benefits Management).
8+ years of hands-on experience in Workday Advanced Compensation, Core Compensation, and Benefits Management modules.
Proven experience delivering products using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies (e.g., Scrum Product Owner, PMP, PRINCE2).
Experience managing change and release activities, including Workday bi-annual releases.
Strong understanding of end-to-end compensation processes and their integration within HR systems.
Experience working with third-party vendors in delivering technology solutions.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement effective technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to additional Workday modules such as Benefits, Recruitment, BIRT, or Workday Docs.
Experience with global implementations and localization strategies.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Prior experience in Product Management within HR technology or Compensation systems.
Familiarity with broader HR systems and cross-functional processes.
