Business Development Specialist, Core Biologics
Position Summary:
Field-based role preferably located in the Midwest

This team plays a critical role in enabling customers to move high-value biologics programs efficiently from opportunity to execution.
As a Business Development Specialist, Core Biologics, you’ll support pipeline generation across cell line development and drug substance services, blending technical selling with data-driven prospecting. Partnering with Account Directors and SMEs, you’ll help drive early client conversations, support opportunity scoping, and use CRM insights to guide territory strategy and identify high-value targets. This role is well suited for someone who is both analytically minded and proactive, relationship-driven, and energized by engaging directly with biopharma stakeholders to build pipelines.
The Role:
Drive new business across cell line development (CLD) and drug substance biologics services through prospecting and lead generation.
Build strong client relationships by demonstrating technical expertise in biologics development (CLD, upstream/downstream, CMC) and positioning Catalent as a strategic partner.
Partner with Account Directors and SMEs to advance and transition opportunities, supporting technical discussions, scoping calls, and solution development.
Lead outreach and meeting coordination with key stakeholders (R&D, Tech Ops, CMC), presenting capabilities and handling initial technical conversations.
Utilize CRM (SFDC) to track pipelines, analyze territory data, and guide prospecting strategy, while reporting on sales activity and market insights.

The Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences required.
Prior lab or development experience in biologics strongly preferred, with exposure to cell line development (CLD) a plus.
Experience working with Salesforce (or similar CRM) and using data to manage pipeline and track performance.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to prioritize opportunities and support commercial strategy.
Effective communicator who can collaborate across teams and actively support client-facing activities.
Highly organized and adaptable in a fast-paced environment; willing to travel up to 50%.
