Job Description Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Scientist in department to join our Analytical Characterization team within the Biopharmaceutical Analytical Development. This role is focus on LC-MS to support biosimilar development projects and ideal for an early-career scientist who is eager to deepen expertise in mass spectrometry-based protein characterization and contribute to the implementation of automated sample preparation workflows.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

LC-MS characterization & project support:

  • Perform and support development of LC-MS methods for characterization of biologics; contribute to analytical activities within biosimilar development projects
  • Successful execution of assigned tasks and responsibilities within given timelines and expected quality.
  • Assist in data evaluation and interpretation using appropriate software tools; document experimental work in electronic laboratory journal (eLN) and support preparation of reports
  • Exhibit a proactive and independent work style with a demonstrated ability to successfully handle several activities at a time.
  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams

Automation & innovation:

  • Support implementation and optimization of automation of LC-MS sample preparation workflows.
  • Contribute to increasing efficiency, robustness, and reproducibility of analytical processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to introduce innovative technologies.

Laboratory & Equipment Management:

  • Act as responsible person for selected simple lab instruments (e.g., balances, pH meters, pipettes, and other lab devices).
  • Manage devices in the electronic Laboratory Management System, respectively
  • Organize periodic maintenance and qualification activities for selected devices
  • Request quotation for qualification or repair
  • Review/approve qualification results
  • Release/block instrument for use under development compliance standard
  • Store instrument related documents to electronic archive.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements
  • Apply regulations and framework of current development compliance standard
  • Take part as SME in (internal and external) inspections.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant natural science such as biotechnology, biochemical engineering, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry or equivalent with 3 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry or Master´s degree (work experience within the pharmaceutical industry is preferable).
  • Profound experience with instrumental analytics (especially LC-MS techniques) and strong data analysis skills (e.g. Refiner MS software, PEAKS, or similar tools).
  • Proficiency in English and German (oral and written)
  • High motivation and learning agility
  • Strong attention to detail and data quality
  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
  • Reliable and accountable approach to lab work and equipment
