Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Position Summary

The Strategic Capabilities Lead is a senior cluster leadership role accountable for building and scaling integrated commercial capability platforms to accelerate growth across Southeast Asia & North Asia for DePuy Synthes.

This role is directly accountable for realizing three strategic priorities across SENA:

  • Accelerating New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Scaling Best Practices Across Markets

  • Enabling KOL Exchange and Clinical Network Effects

The role acts as the integrator across markets and functions to ensure these priorities are executed with speed, consistency, and measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

1) Strategic Priority Delivery (Core Accountability)

a) Accelerating NPI

  • Build and institutionalize a repeatable, best-in-class NPI engine across SENA

  • Drive launch excellence: market readiness, training, demand generation, and early adoption

  • Partner with BULs to ensure rapid, high-quality uptake of priority platforms

  • Track and optimize NPI performance through clear metrics (time-to-launch, adoption curves, revenue ramp)

b) Scaling Best Practices

  • Identify, codify, and scale winning commercial, clinical, and operational playbooks across markets

  • Create mechanisms for rapid cross-country deployment (toolkits, training, governance)

  • Eliminate duplication and variability; drive consistency with local relevance

  • Act as a central hub for what works across SENA—and why

c) KOL Exchange & Clinical Network

  • Build a structured SENA KOL ecosystem and exchange platform

  • Facilitate cross-market collaboration, fellowships, and peer-to-peer learning

  • Elevate regional centers of excellence and amplify clinical advocacy

  • Ensure KOL engagement is strategically aligned to growth platforms and NPIs

2) Marketing & Demand Generation

  • Oversee integrated regional marketing strategy (JME, RAD, TECA where relevant)

  • Provide leadership oversight to marketing to drive franchise strategy, portfolio/lifecycle management, launches, segmentation, and differentiation.

  • Align upstream strategy with downstream execution for priority launches

3) Professional Education & Clinical Adoption

  • Set and execute the cluster professional education strategy to enable world-class HCP/surgeon education, aligned with growth priorities and governance requirements.

  • Design education strategies tightly linked to NPI success and KOL development

  • Innovate education models (digital/hybrid/regional platforms) to improve reach, quality, and ROI.

4) Field Service & Customer Experience

  • Lead the Field Service strategy and operating model to deliver equipment uptime, service quality, and strong customer experience.

  • Position service as a key enabler of NPI success and customer loyalty

  • Drive productivity, capability building, and standardization, in partnership with Quality/Regulatory and Supply Chain.

5) Strategic / Key Accounts

  • Establish and scale the cluster strategic account approach, including KAM frameworks, customer partnership strategies, and integrated solutions for priority systems.

  • Partner with markets and franchises to win in complex customer environments and unlock enterprise relationships.

6) Business Administration & Operating Excellence

  • Partner with markets and franchises to win in complex customer environments and unlock enterprise relationships.

 

Success Metrics

  • Speed and success of NPIs (time-to-launch, adoption, revenue ramp)

  • Number and impact of best practices scaled across markets

  • Strength and activation of SENA KOL network

  • Above-market growth across SENA

  • ROI on marketing, education, and capability investments

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/advanced degree preferred.

  • 12+ years progressive leadership experience in MedTech/healthcare or similarly complex, regulated industries.

  • Proven success leading multi-function commercial/capability teams.

  • Strong track record translating strategy into execution across multi-country, matrixed organizations.

  • Demonstrated executive stakeholder management, change leadership, and ability to drive results through influence.

  • Strong execution mindset with ability to scale what works.

  • Enterprise thinker; breaks country silos.

  • Strong integrator and influencer.

  • Builds followership and develops talent.

  • Thrives in complexity and ambiguity.

  • Willingness to travel across the cluster (~30%).
