About the Role:

Drive the progression of assigned development programs by applying independent scientific judgement to complex technical challenges. This role deepens mechanistic understanding of processes, translates experimental data into clear scientific rationale, and influences project-level decisions that shape development strategy. As a trusted technical contributor, collaborate across functions, strengthen regulatory alignment, and play a key role in advancing assets toward clinical and commercial milestones.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Apply scientific or engineering principles with increasing complexity to process development lifecycle activities

  • Independently evaluate scientific data and recommend development decisions balancing product understanding and risk

  • May lead defined process scale-up and technology transfer initiatives

  • Support project planning and advancement within cross-functional teams

  • Maintain accountability for assigned development deliverables

  • Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation strategies

  • Independently design, execute, and interpret studies supporting project objectives

  • Ensure laboratory and pilot-scale work is efficient, compliant and aligned with safety standards

  • Identify process challenges and lead troubleshooting and optimization activities

  • Recommend new technologies or methods to improve product quality and process performance

  • Assist in managing contract manufacturing activities

  • Contribute to CMC documentation and regulatory readiness efforts

  • Mentor junior scientists and support team development

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or similar scientific discipline and 4+ years of relevant experience OR

  • MS/MA degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or similar scientific discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience OR

  • PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or similar scientific discipline and some years relevant experience; may include postdoc experience

  • Well-developed understanding of process development approaches and scale-up strategies

  • Strong laboratory and productivity skills

  • Manufacturing experience internally or with external partners

  • Good understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrated cross-functional understanding related to drug development

  • Strong proficiency with laboratory equipment and tools

  • Strong knowledge of scientific or engineering principles and methods

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data sets and articulate scientific rationale

  • Consistently recognizes anomalous results and determines appropriate next steps

  • Explains data implications clearly to cross-functional stakeholders

  • Builds effective internal and external working relationships

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical thinking

  • Works effectively as part of a team and may lead defined activities

  • Strong communication skills

  • Understands broader scientific impact on project outcomes

  • Manages multiple deadlines with accuracy and efficiency

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $110,800.00-$151,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
