The Director, AI Solution Consulting is a strategic role responsible for leading AI solution pre-sales and AI consulting service in the China market. Based in Shanghai or Beijing, this individual will work closely with commercial, digital health, product, delivery, and global teams to shape differentiated AI-enabled solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech customers across R&D clinical research. The role requires a combination of strong AI technical depth, consulting credibility, and customer engagement capability — turning complex business problems into practical, scalable, and high-value AI solutions.

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead AI solution consulting and pre-sales activities for strategic opportunities across the China market.
• Partner with commercial teams to shape opportunities, qualify customer needs, and develop compelling AI solution strategies and proposals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, translating business challenges in clinical development into practical AI-enabled solutions.
• Lead customer discovery sessions, solution workshops, executive presentations, and technical discussions.
• Lead the preparation and delivery of compelling product demonstrations tailored to clients' specific needs, effectively showcasing the benefits and features of Evinova AI solutions.
• Manage the creation and upkeep of demo environments to ensure they are up-to-date and aligned with client needs.
• Design end-to-end AI solution concepts, covering use cases, data and workflow requirements, model approach, integration, deployment, and governance considerations.
• Provide subject matter expertise in modern AI technologies, including LLMs, ML, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic workflows, model evaluation, and AI engineering.
• Partner with product management and engineering teams to ensure smooth product releases and alignment with client expectations and requirements.
• Work closely with product, engineering, AI/data science, delivery, and compliance teams to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with platform strategy.
• Support development of proposals, statements of work, business cases, and executive-level presentation materials.
• Advise customers on enterprise AI adoption and transformation, including readiness, prioritisation, deployment options, responsible AI, and risk management.
• Stay current on market trends, competitive developments, and emerging AI innovation to strengthen Evinova’s positioning in China.
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences, engaging with potential clients and collaborators to promote Evinova AI solutions.

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES NEEDED

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in AI technology, solution consulting, pre-sales, enterprise architecture, or digital transformation.
• Strong technical depth in LLMs, ML, transformer architecture, model training/fine-tuning, agentic AI engineering, solution architecture, and enterprise AI deployment.
• Proven experience in AI solution pre-sales, consulting and solution design, with a strong track record of customer-facing engagement.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for senior business and technical stakeholders.
• Good understanding of clinical development workflows, trial operations, and digital clinical systems is highly desirable.
• Strong executive presence and ability to work effectively across a local and global matrix organisation.
• Strong consulting, problem-solving, and structured communication skills.
• Well-developed senior stakeholder management skill with proven problem-solving, collaboration and interpersonal leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and create clarity.
• Fluent English and Mandarin, both of which must be usable as working languages.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including both domestic and international travels.
• AI-first Mentality, result-driven and ’Can-do’ attitude.
• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical R&D, clinical research, healthcare technology, or other regulated industries is strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of ICH E6 R3 Good Clinical Practice, FDA 21 CFR part 11, EU GDPR, EU AI Act and China Generative AI Measures is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience implementing or governing CDISC standards (CDASH, SDTM, ADaM) and USDM (Unified Study Definitions Model) in clinical data management or regulatory submission workflows is highly preferred.
• MBA is preferred coupled with prior experience implementing leading life sciences software products.
