The Facility Management Operations Lead is responsible for the comprehensive management and continuous improvement of all facility operations at Sandoz’ Global Capability Center (GCC) and Global Value (GV) sites in Hyderabad. This role ensures the seamless delivery of facility services, regulatory compliance, and a safe, sustainable, and efficient workplace that supports Sandoz business objectives. The incumbent will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external service partners, and global Sandoz teams to align site operations with corporate standards and Hyderabad-specific requirements.

Facility Management Operations Lead (E) - – Sandoz GCC & GV Hyderabad

Position Purpose:

The Facility Management Operations Lead is responsible for the comprehensive management and continuous improvement of all facility operations at Sandoz’ Global Capability Center (GCC) and Global Value (GV) sites in Hyderabad. This role ensures the seamless delivery of facility services, regulatory compliance, and a safe, sustainable, and efficient workplace that supports Sandoz business objectives. The incumbent will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external service partners, and global Sandoz teams to align site operations with corporate standards and Hyderabad-specific requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities: 

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

· Oversee daily operations at Sandoz GCC & GV Hyderabad sites , ensuring the highest level of workplace service delivery, including timely response to site-specific needs and critical business continuity requirements.

· Manage hard and soft services such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building maintenance, cleaning, security, catering, reception, waste management, and landscaping, tailored to the operating environment and regulatory framework in Hyderabad. Directly supervise third-party vendors and ensure adherence to Sandoz’ procurement and performance standards.

· Lead minor works and improvement projects, including office fitouts, space reconfigurations, and technology upgrades, while minimizing disruption to business operations and ensuring compliance with Indian building and safety codes.

· Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure facility service quality, occupational health and safety, and compliance with Sandoz internal standards and local Indian regulations.

· Maintain and update preventive maintenance schedules , ensuring timely execution and proper documentation in alignment with Sandoz global asset management protocols.

· Track and manage site operating budgets , monitor expenditures versus forecasts, and initiate cost control measures specific to the Hyderabad market and Sandoz’ financial guidelines.

· Ensure site compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to Indian GCCs, and lead corrective actions and risk mitigation programs.

 

· Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives , driving local implementation of Sandoz’ ESG targets and reporting on progress for GCC & GV Hyderabad sites.

· Act as primary liaison between Hyderabad site leadership, employees, and global Sandoz Facility Management teams, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.

· Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, including fire safety, evacuation, and disaster recovery strategies specific to the Hyderabad sites.

Core Competencies
· Extensive knowledge of facility management best practices, with an emphasis on operations in Indian corporate environments, preferably in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector. Strong leadership, team management, and vendor management skills, with demonstrated ability to drive results through cross-functional and multicultural teams. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in fast-paced and dynamic settings. · Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in Telugu and/or Hindi is a plus.
· Solid understanding of Indian health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, as well as familiarity with international standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA) as applied locally. Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and cost controls in the Indian market context. · Commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability, and operational excellence.

What you’ll bring to the role: 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., IFMA, PMP, ISO 41001) are an advantage.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in facility management operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role at a multinational company in India.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large office or campus facilities (preferably GCCs) in Hyderabad or similar urban settings.
  • Proven track record in vendor management, health and safety compliance, and successful project delivery.
  • Experience implementing sustainability, energy efficiency, and/or ESG programs in a corporate environment.
  • This position is based full-time on-site in Hyderabad and may require occasional travel to other Sandoz locations as needed.
