Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve the Web-based digital experience platform, including day-to-day site maintenance, content/page updates, bug fixes, and enhancements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive, accessible websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and Node.js.
  • Build and maintain reusable front-end components and features, including:
    • Responsive, cross-browser, mobile-friendly page layouts and UI components
    • Client-side interactivity and dynamic UI behavior using JavaScript/React.js
    • Front-end performance optimization (page load speed, asset/image optimization, caching)
  • Partner with product managers to translate business needs into scalable, high-quality technical solutions.
  • Own features end-to-end, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with backend and platform teams to integrate front-end code with APIs, content services, and CMS platforms.
  • Continuously improve website performance, scalability, security, and cross-browser/device compatibility.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
  • Provide strategic input into the product roadmap, identifying high-value and differentiating capabilities.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, platform, delivery, analytics) to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product knowledge base, including documentation, training, roadmaps, and feature inventories.
  • Support product launches, experimentation, and testing initiatives.
  • Prototype and validate front-end concepts and UI/UX ideas to accelerate innovation.
  • Track and report on product performance, adoption of metrics, and business impact.
  • Drive product adoption through effective operating models, change management, and user enablement.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of software development experience in an agile environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with:
    • Front-end fundamentals: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)
    • React.js for building UI components and single-page applications
    • Node.js for server-side scripting, build tooling, and API integration
    • Hands-on experience building and/or maintaining production websites, including version control (Git), responsive/cross-browser testing, and debugging
  • Product mindset with a strong focus on user experience and business impact.
  • At least 1 year of experience contributing to product planning or product management.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with front-end build tools and package managers (Webpack, Vite, npm/yarn)
  • Digital marketing or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Experience with front-end testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO best practices
  • Basic knowledge of CDN, DNS, Web Application Firewall
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating front-end applications with back-end services
  • Experience with a content management system (AEM, WordPress, Drupal, or similar)
  • Experience with state management and component libraries in the React ecosystem (Redux, Context API, styled-components, etc.)
  • Experience consuming headless CMS and GraphQL/REST APIs, and deploying to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • DevOps tooling including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript tooling (ESLint, Prettier, Babel)
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design tools (Figma, Adobe XD) and design-to-code workflows

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $78,200 - $94,760

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

  • US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)

  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
