Role Purpose:
The Technical Service Specialist will provide expert technical support to customers in the grain processing, distilling and bioenergy sectors across the Middle East and Africa region. This individual contributor role is pivotal in ensuring the successful adoption of new products, delivering technical excellence, and driving innovation-led growth in line with business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Support & Troubleshooting: Provide direct technical service and problem-solving support to customers, ensuring optimal use and performance of products in grain processing, distilling and biofuel production environments.
- New Product Launches: Lead the technical onboarding and field implementation of new product launches across the region. Coordinate trials, generate technical data, and support commercial teams to ensure launch success.
- Innovation & Project Leadership: Initiate and drive regional innovation projects in collaboration with application teams and customers, focusing on process optimization, efficiency improvements, and value addition.
- Training & Knowledge Transfer: Conduct technical training and workshops for internal teams, distributors, and customers to build regional capability and ensure correct application of solutions.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advances, and customer needs in the grain, distilling and bioenergy markets to inform development strategies and support the commercial roadmap.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, regulatory, and R&D teams to align technical activities with commercial objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience in grain processing, distilling, ethanol production, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of fermentation / distillery operations, enzymatic processes, milling technologies, or biofuel applications.
- Proven ability to lead field trials, analyze technical data, and translate insights into actionable solutions.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the Middle East and Africa region.
