What You Will Do
Your focus will be on leading and developing Site Contracts Lead (SCL) teams, ensuring delivery of high-quality site contracting and start-up activities, resolving escalated issues, and driving team capability and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing Site Contracts Lead (SCL) teams to deliver strong end-to-end site contracting activities, including budget and contract negotiation, in line with study timelines and quality expectations.
Providing strategic oversight of site contracting strategy set up, project risk mitigation, client management and on time contracts delivery in line with ICON/Sponsor and local requirements and quality..
Acting as the primary escalation point for complex contractual or budgetary issues, ensuring timely resolution while balancing sponsor and site expectations.
Overseeing contracting forecasts, assumptions, and risks, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies and ensure predictable delivery.
Collaborating closely with Legal, Operations, and Business Development teams to support proposals, bid defenses, and customer interactions with robust contracting expertise.
Monitoring contracting performance metrics (e.g., cycle times, negotiation timelines, execution rates), identifying trends, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance across contracting processes, including adherence to SOPs, templates, and regulatory requirements.
Coaching, mentoring, and developing SCL team members, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and collaboration.
Your Profile
You will bring strong expertise in site contracting and negotiations, with demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and drive operational excellence.
Required qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Significant experience in clinical research with a strong focus on site contracts, budget negotiation, and study start-up.
Proven experience in leading and developing teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Strong analytical and planning skills, with the ability to interpret operational data and contracting metrics.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including customer-facing experience.
Continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and delivery predictability.
Willingness to travel as required (approximately 15%).
