Position Overview
The BAS Specialist provides engineering support for building automation systems across the Rahway campus. This role focuses on system reliability, troubleshooting, and execution of projects supporting HVAC systems.
The position supports day-to-day BAS operations, assists with system upgrades, and contributes continuous improvement initiatives for safety, reliability, efficiency, and standardization.
Key Responsibilities:
BAS System Support
Support operation and maintenance of BAS platforms, including monitoring system performance.
Troubleshoot BAS issues across hardware, software, network, and field devices.
Perform routine system checks, backups, and updates to ensure reliability.
Develop and maintain accurate system documentation, databases, and site guidelines.
Engineering & Project Execution
Support design and implementation of BAS installations, modifications and upgrades.
Assist with commissioning activities for new or modified systems.
Work with vendors and contractors to execute scoped project work.
Ensure work aligns with standards, safety, and compliance requirements.
Operations & Collaboration
Partner with Utilities, Maintenance, and Facilities teams to resolve system issues.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Provide input on system improvements and operational efficiencies.
Continuous Improvement
Assist with system optimization, trending, and reporting.
Identify and support implementation of energy savings opportunities.
Required Education, Skills & Experience:
High School diploma or GED with a minimum 4 years of experience with building automation or control systems.
Experience with HVAC systems, controls, and field instrumentation.
Knowledge of control systems components (sensors, actuators, dampers, valves).
Experience troubleshooting automation systems and supporting maintenance activities.
Basic understanding of networked control systems and system integration concepts.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
Experience with BAS platforms; Schneider Electric EBO experience highly desired.
Exposure to data trending, historians, or analytics platforms (e.g., PI, OPC).
Familiarity with commissioning and startup activities.
Understanding of energy management and sustainability practices.

The salary range for this role is
$87,300.00 - $137,400.00This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
