Overview (Senior) Regional External Affairs & Market Access Manager As Incyte continues its transformation into a first-in-class biotech innovator in Germany, the (Senior) Regional External Affairs & Market Access Manager plays a pivotal field-based role at the intersection of Market Access, and Government Affairs. This position is accountable for both ensuring regional reimbursement success and shaping the broader healthcare and policy environment in line with Incyte’s strategic objectives. The role bridges operational excellence and political foresight to enable sustainable patient access and regional reputation. The (Senior) Regional External Affairs & Market Access Manager is an expert in regards to regional features and specialties within the German healthcare system. They establish and expand Incyte`s network towards relevant regional stakeholders throughout the healthcare system and represent the company at SHIs, KVs, MDs, etc. They assure constant exchange of relevant information between Incyte and these stakeholders. A (Senior) Regional External Affairs & Market Access Manager at Incyte is a member of Incyte`s cross-functional teams and, therefore, partners internally and externally alike. In addition, a (Senior) Regional External Affairs & Market Access Manager constantly reflects external positions and knows to extract information and developments which are key for Incyte`s commercial success. They have strong analytical and communicative skills and consider the establishment of collaborations despite opposing positions as a positive challenge. Duties and Responsibilities Build strategic relationships with regional political stakeholders (Landtage, health ministries, municipal health authorities) Monitor and report policy and legislative developments relevant to Incyte’s portfolio and pipeline Serve as Incyte’s voice in selected regional health alliances and public policy initiatives Act as trusted advisor to key regional institutions (e.g., university hospitals, healthcare associations) Co-create and execute integrated account plans in coordination with cross-functional teams, Support implementation of the regional Strategic Key Account Management (KAM) model Detect, structure, and share field intelligence to drive aligned decision-making Cascade and implement the national Governmental Affairs strategy within the assigned region, while feeding back local insights and stakeholder developments to help refine national positioning and initiatives. Represent Incyte towards regional stakeholders of the German healthcare system, such as SHIs, KV, MDs, etc. Proactive information of health insurance companies, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the medical service of the health insurance funds for Incyte’s medicines, e.g. Scientific processing of approval studies Explanation of the pharmacological mode of action of new drugs Pharmaceutical information (such as dosage form, galenics, application, Storage) Benefit-risk profile This also includes medical and pharmaceutical advice and information Pharmacotherapy consultants of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, who in turn Contact persons for their contract doctors for technical questions. Initially establish and expand the company`s network to abovementioned stakeholders and assure constant and mutual exchange of relevant information between Incyte and regional stakeholders Collaborate with Incyte`s cross-functional teams, in particular with Incyte`s MSL teams, to discuss medical and scientific topics with Market Access stakeholders and, vice versa, Market Access topics with selected stakeholders among physicians, medical experts and their institutions Analyze regional features of the German healthcare system which are key for Incyte`s pipeline and existing portfolio and deduce recommendations and commercial strategies for Incyte`s business teams based on these analyses Constantly screen the healthcare and health political environment; share knowledge and developments with respective internal partners; process and translate external information into internal language if necessary; derivate and implement regional strategies to support other Incyte field teams Conceptualize, initiate and perform studies which aim to generate Real World Evidence and share results with relevant external stakeholders as well as with internal partners Share best practices with European Market Access team and regional Market Access teams in other countries Be your own back-office; proactively assure internal exchange and alignment and prepare and execute external appointments autonomously Adhere to corporate SOPs and ensure vigilant compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and guidelines governing scientific interactions with physicians and healthcare professionals across all activities Embrace and demonstrate the Incyte Corporate Values Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics Requirements Bachelor´s degree in science, pharmacy, biology, chemistry, health economy, public health, or other relevant discipline; Master degree is a plus 3-5+ years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry or within an institution of the German healthcare system which is of relevance for the pharmaceutical industry Expert knowledge and understanding of the German healthcare system and its processes, principles and regulations Experience in oncology (hemato-oncology and solid tumors) as well as in dermatology is a plus Excellent analytical and communicative skills, very good English knowledge Flexibility, proactivity, diplomacy, ability to manage expectations, humor Problem solving and entrepreneurial skills Ability to travel frequently, in exceptional cases with overnight stays Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job.
