Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a 6 month Internship position in the Global Process, Biotherapeutics Drug Product Development and Delivery organization, located in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

The candidate for this position will support experienced senior or principal scientists in the execution and documentation of process development, technology transfer, and fill/finish manufacturing-related activities for biotherapeutic products.

This role is intended for a student candidate with limited professional experience who is motivated to learn in a regulated pharmaceutical development environment.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Support scientists in the preparation, execution, and follow-up of process development and technology transfer activities related to drug product fill/finish processes.

  • Assist with data collection, data organization, basic analysis, and preparation of summaries, tables, and presentations to support scientific decision-making.

  • Help maintain project documentation, including experiment records, meeting notes, action trackers, technical templates, and supporting information for reports.

  • Contribute to laboratory, pilot-scale, or manufacturing support activities under the guidance and supervision of experienced scientists, following applicable procedures and safety expectations.

  • Carrying out background research to support experimental design and read outs.

  • Working collaboratively with the team and other functions to contribute to the projects, attending lab meetings and team meetings present finding and engage in problem-solving.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of scientific principles and willingness to learn about biotherapeutic drug product processes and fill/finish operations.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. German language skills are desirable but not required.

  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to document work accurately and consistently.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment, ask questions, follow guidance, and communicate progress or challenges in a timely manner.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, with basic understanding of statistical methods and analysis software.

  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; basic data analysis skills are beneficial.

  • Motivated and curiosity: a genuine interest in scientific research and a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques, technologies, and challenges in process development.

Degree:

  • Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field with experience in laboratory work and preferred more than one internship completed at a company.
