Role Purpose:
Our R&D unit in Mengeš is looking for a motivated and experienced scientist in field of Formulation development to join us and help us develop a diverse portfolio of biotherapeutic modalities.
As a Principal Scientist you must demonstrate a broad and in-depth knowledge of pre-formulation/formulation and characterization to evaluate the developability of various biologics modalities covered by Novartis Biomedical Research and Development units, ranging from traditional antibodies to advanced biologics formats and mixed modalities. You will help shape the overall formulation strategy for large biomolecules before the project transition from research into early phase development and help funnel out unfavorable candidates with respect to formulation assessment.

Kot Vodilni raziskovalec I/II morate izkazovati široko in poglobljeno znanje na področju predformulacij/formulacij in karakterizacije za oceno razvojne primernosti različnih bioterapevtikov, ki jih pokrivajo Novartisove enote Biomedicinskih Raziskav in Razvoja, od tradicionalnih protiteles do naprednih bioloških formatov in mešanih modalitet.. Pomagali boste oblikovati celotno strategijo formulacije za biološke kandidate pred prehodom projekta iz raziskav v zgodnjo fazo razvoja ter pomagali izločiti manj primerne kandidate z vidika ocene formulacije.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop pre-formulation assessments monoclonal antibodies, multispecific antibodies and other therapeutic proteins
Lead screening experiments to identify stable formulations, and collaborate results and designs independently to research and development organizations to define formulation strategy
Collaborate with the automation teams to implement state-of-the-art high-throughput screens using automated liquid handler systems for pre-formulation assessment
Apply physico-chemical analytics methods for characterization of biotherapeutics in screening, formulation, lead optimization and development stages
Supervise the operation and maintenance of instruments, perform data analysis and ELN documentation, and author and/or review method development and technical reports.
Functionally manage the formulation team and resources, project activities, timelines, maintain a strong customer focus
Provide scientific leadership and clear guidance to the team, optimally leveraging the expertise and experience of individuals
Drive a culture of collaboration, integrity, and team development, and ensure a safe, empowering, and inspiring working environment
Minimum Requirements - What you will bring to the role
PhD degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics or a related field with at least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry; or MSc degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics or a related field with at least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry
Hands-on experience with protein drug delivery and characterization
Demonstrated technical understanding and expertise in the field of formulation sciences of large biotherapeutic molecules with a preferred knowledge of novel drug delivery systems
Demonstrated expertise with hands-on experience of setting up pre-formulation assessments and use of different stability indicating assays such as SEC/CE/DLS (including but not limited to) to interpret the formulation studies data
Experience with data analysis workflows and report generation
Distinguished team spirit and scientific drive
High flexibility combined with excellent organizational and communication skills
Fluency in English (oral/written)

Nadzor nad delovanjem in vzdrževanjem instrumentov, izvajanje analize podatkov in dokumentacije v ELN ter priprava in/ali pregled poročil o razvoju metod in tehničnih poročil
Funkcionalno vodenje formulacijske ekipe in virov, projektnih aktivnosti, časovnic ter ohranjanje močne osredotočenosti na stranke
Zagotavljanje znanstvenega vodenja in jasnih usmeritev ekipi ob optimalnem izkoriščanju strokovnega znanja in izkušenj posameznikov
Spodbujanje kulture sodelovanja, integritete in razvoja ekipe ter zagotavljanje varnega, opolnomočenega in navdihujočega delovnega </spa
