POSITION SUMMARY

The Digital Business Partner owns the global value narrative for executive leaders across the data and digital portfolio, clarifying the why, defining measurable outcomes, and reporting progress and value realized. This role translates strategy into an outcomes-based portfolio and prioritized roadmap that balances run/operate, regulatory commitments, technical debt, and innovation. The position builds measurable business cases with current-state baselines, target KPIs/OKRs, and benefits-realization tracking through adoption. Leveraging PAH domain knowledge and AI/LLM and emerging technologies, the role identifies and matures high-impact opportunities from concept to scalable capability. The Lead ensures solutions scale as reusable platforms and build-once patterns, avoiding one-off point solutions and duplication. The role champions end-user adoption through change readiness, training/support alignment, and sustained usage to achieve intended outcomes. Through matrix leadership of globally distributed technologists and direct development of Business Partner talent, the role drives execution discipline, removes blockers, and delivers executive-ready communication on tradeoffs and risk.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the value narrative and outcomes for executive leaders across the data and digital portfolio: clarify the why, define measurable outcomes (KPIs/OKRs), and report progress and value realized.
  • Translate strategy into an outcomes-based portfolio and roadmap: shape demand into a prioritized plan balancing run/operate, regulatory commitments, technical debt, and innovation.
  • Build measurable business cases with baselines: quantify current-state performance/cost/risk, define target KPIs/OKRs, and track benefits realization through adoption.
  • Drive value realization using PAH domain knowledge and AI/LLM/emerging technologies: identify and mature high-impact opportunities from concept to scaled capability.
  • Ensure solutions scale as reusable capabilities: promote platform evolution and build-once patterns; manage dependencies and avoid duplication across the enterprise.
  • Champion end-user adoption: ensure change readiness, training/support alignment, and sustained usage to realize intended outcomes.
  • Provide matrix leadership to globally distributed technologists: align priorities, clarify intent/acceptance criteria, remove blockers, and ensure delivery achieves intended business outcomes.
  • Lead and develop Business Partner talent: coach performance, strengthen consultative partnering, and raise the bar on executive communication.
  • Operate with financial and execution discipline: manage forecasts/budgets, surface tradeoffs early, and escalate risks with crisp, executive-ready updates.
  • Manage software spend and vendor performance while evaluating capability fit and driving sourcing decisions that balance value, risk, and total cost of ownership.
  • Plan and execute application/platform lifecycle strategies (upgrade, modernization, deprecation, retirement) to keep systems supported, compliant, and sustainable.
  • Own vulnerability posture reporting and remediation execution, prioritizing fixes by risk and ensuring issues are tracked to verified closure.
  • Lead VDT operational delivery and team performance across incident/problem/change management, operating model, metrics, and continuous improvement.
  • Govern license provisioning and compliance by managing allocations, reclaiming unused entitlements, supporting renewals/audits, and optimizing utilization.
  • Own end-to-end reliability and day-to-day operations for VMRD Edge site(s), coordinating changes, monitoring, incident response, and stakeholder alignment to protect scientific operations.
  • Govern and optimize the application/software portfolio by maintaining inventory, rationalizing redundancy, setting standards, and reporting portfolio health, risk, and value.
  • Lead portfolio intake and prioritization, manage cross-project dependencies and capacity, and provide clear governance and executive reporting across all initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Genetics, or related) or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in technology/digital portfolio leadership, IT business partnership, product management, consulting, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated success with executive stakeholder management, value storytelling, and outcomes measurement (KPIs/OKRs)
  • Experience building business cases and leading benefits realization/adoption
  • Experience leading cross-functional delivery through influence/matrix leadership

Technical Competencies:

  • Portfolio shaping, roadmap prioritization, and demand management
  • Business-case development: baselining, KPI/OKR definition, benefits tracking Change adoption and stakeholder engagement; executive-ready communication
  • Matrix leadership and delivery governance (intent, acceptance criteria, dependency mgmt)
  • Financial discipline: forecasting, budget management, vendor spend management
  • Working understanding of data/analytics and digital product delivery fundamentals



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree (MBA/MS) preferred
  • Experience driving AI/LLM-enabled capabilities from concept to scaled adoption with appropriate controls
  • Familiarity with platform thinking and reusable capability design (build once patterns)
  • Knowledge of service management and operational metrics for run/operate
  • Experience in commercial organization environments and/or genetics domain exposure preferred
  • Experience leveraging shared services (e.g., GBS/India) and vendors to scale delivery preferred

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Primarily office/desk-based work; frequent computer use and meetings.
Travel up to ~5% (domestic and/or international as required).
May require occasional availability outside standard business hours for major releases, incidents, or planning events (as applicable).
