As Executive Director, Medical Affairs Italy, you will lead one of Incyte's most influential Medical organizations in Europe. You will define the medical vision across Oncology, Hematology and Immunology while serving as a key member of the Italian Leadership Team and representing Italy within the European Medical Affairs Leadership Team. Beyond Medical Affairs, you will help shape affiliate strategy, influence critical business decisions, strengthen our reputation across the scientific community and ensure that Medical continues to be a catalyst for innovation across the organization. You will work alongside outstanding colleagues across Research & Development, Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs and Global Medical Affairs, building the partnerships that transform scientific innovation into meaningful outcomes for patients. Responsabilities The Medical Director of Incyte Biosciences Italy is heading the Medical Affairs Oncology Hematology and Inflammatory and AutoImmune diseases (IAI) leading and driving all medical activities, implementing the Local and International medical strategy. Contribute to reimbursement dossiers according to the medical expertise. Accountable for -implementing local Medical Affairs plans / budget – review and reallocate if needed agreed budget for Medical Affairs projects. Act within compliance and legal requirements as well as within company guidelines. Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics. Review directly or through delegates medical and promotional materials for scientific/medical accuracy, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in all communications. Provide medical review and sign-off of medical drug information letters, slides, custom responses, publications, medical education grants, and other medical affairs materials as needed. Facilitate education and training sessions for medical and commercial field force, ensuring content is inclusive and accessible to all participants. Participate and/or facilitate data presentation and discussion at advisory boards and investigator meetings. Set and communicate clear and ambitious targets to the Medical Director of Hematology and Oncology, to the IAI Senior Medical Advisors, to the MSL Lead Oncology/Hematology and to the IAI MSLs, ensuring inclusivity and collaboration. Collaborate with the Medical Director Hematology and Oncology, with the IAI Senior Medical Advisors, with the MSL Lead Oncology/Hematology, and with the IAI MSLs to develop and maintain effective relationships with thought leaders and investigators. Conduct site visits as needed, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all participants. Conducts performance reviews and facilitates goal setting and development planning. Hires, manages, mentors, motivates, empowers, develops, and retains medical staff to support assigned activities, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. Liaise with the local Director Clinical Operations (DCO) in site selection, participant recruitment, and management of Incyte sponsored national and international clinical studies. Oversee the Investigator Initiated Research (IIR), approving IIR proposals at a local level. Actively participate in the leadership team, with a focus on cultural inclusivity and diversity. Assure development of effective medical strategies and their local execution in accordance with local leadership team. Represent Italy in the EU Medical Affairs Leadership Team, providing feedback to global and regional initiatives. Lead or contribute to EU Medical Affairs projects and task forces. Oversee and support the development and execution of an integrated medical plan. Provide a coordinated approach to building Incyte's medical leadership in current and prospective business areas and deliver medical insight into the development and execution of a medical affairs strategy. Collaborate closely with colleagues within Incyte across various departments such as Marketing, Research & Development, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access, and other key functions to foster alignment on key initiatives. Coordinate regular departmental trainings. Represent Incyte Biosciences Italy in all strategic groups on Research led by local Pharma Associations (i.e.: Farmindustria, Assobiotec etc.) or with an International reference (the likes of the American Chamber of Commerce) providing constant and valuable insights/proposals Qualifications Willingness to travel 15-20%, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. Ability to collaborate and work effectively across functions and operate in a matrix environment. Strong leadership and management skills, with an emphasis on fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Effective public speaking skills. Familiarity with internal/external medical requirements as well as clinical trial design, biostatistics, medical writing, product safety, and regulatory affairs. 10+ years of Hematology/Oncology experience is an absolute requirement. IAI plausible knowledgeability is a preference. We welcome diverse backgrounds and experiences.
