Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional, highly motivated scientist to join Cell therapy at BeiGene to enable preclinical research and development in cell therapy arena. Ideal candidate must be proficient in in vitro functional assessment of cell therapy. The successful applicant will join the effort to establish and execute strategies in building functional assessment platforms that can best predict clinical outcomes for various cell-based therapeutic modalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a broad range of cell-based functional assays to characterize engineered NK and T cells for pre-clinical research and development projects.
  • Design and perform molecular biology and immunological experiments, including characterization of immune cell function in vitro by immune assays (flow cytometry, killing assay…etc.) and cell biological/biochemical assays (proliferation assay, luciferase assay…etc.), and possible in animal models.
  • Perform daily laboratory maintenance tasks, including ordering reagents, maintaining stocks, aliquoting solutions, etc.
  • Ability to follow protocols, procedures, and instructions properly, and accurately document all work in a laboratory notebook.
  • Engage colleagues in scientific discussion, and present scientific data to internal and external audiences.

    Qualification Required:

    Qualifications and skills:

    • Master's degree in Immunology, Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
    • Hands-on experience with human immune and mammalian cell culture, including methods for multicolor flow cytometric analysis and multiplex assays.
    • Ability to work on weekends for cell culture, and differentiation and take turns to be on duty.
    • Minimum three years of extensive laboratory experience in mammalian cell culture, cell biology, molecular biology, DNA/RNA preparation, PCR, and immunotyping.
    • Immunological experimental experience, including flow cytometry, panel design, cell sorting, ELISA, and immune cell culture.
    • The successful candidate should have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Self-motivated, self-managed, and willing to take multi-task and work efficiently.
    • Continuous learning and the ability to acquire new knowledge to meet job requirements.
    • Be able to work under pressure.
    • Good communication skills in both English and Chinese.
