About this role
Supervise resources to carry out nursery activities to secure quality and target of seed returns on time. Supervise all field mapping, planting, plot identification, harvesting, data collection and data management with internal IT systems. Participate in safety inspections/training and comply with all company policies, code of conduct and standard operating procedures. Follow work instructions and participate in internal QMS audits. Supervise and train contractors and seasonal employees on standard operating procedures and tool operations. Collaborate with team members to deliver detailed experimental protocols that enable advancement decisions by pipelines, breeders, and scientists. Provide timely reports on nursery progress and notify the Agronomic Specialist/Nursery Specialist of any significant deviation from the plan. Establish strong relationships and connections with local stakeholders. Implement strategies that strengthen commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement for the process. Other Travel up to 15% of the time, particularly during peak seasons. 1. Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Engineering, or a related science, or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Experience with seed technology industry or plant breeding. Experience with standard MS Office and at least one software used in scientific data analysis, with ability to quickly learn new software programs and tools. Ability to learn new technologies (e.g., agricultural machinery, GPS systems, software), with the capability to obtain and manage drone certification.
