Master’s Student – Thesis in Method Evaluation and Protocol Optimization

Location: Pohlheim, Germany
Working hours: Approximately 38 hours per week, on-site
Compensation: €1,000 per month

Novonesis is looking for a motivated Master’s student to prepare a thesis focused on the evaluation and optimization of working protocols, with a particular focus on methods for color analysis.

About the team

You will join the Food & Beverage Biosolutions division at Novonesis. Our department develops ingredients for the global meat, plant-based meat alternatives, and prepared foods industries. We also support producers in applying our biosolutions effectively.

You will become part of a team of 17 skilled colleagues working in an inspiring and positive atmosphere. Our facilities include state-of-the-art laboratories and a well-equipped meat pilot plant, which serves as Novonesis’ global center of excellence for meat, plant-based meat alternatives, and prepared foods.

Your responsibilities

  • Plan, perform, and evaluate tests to assess methods for color analysis

  • Apply analytical test methods in a practical, application-oriented way

  • Use statistical tools to evaluate and interpret data

  • Document and present results clearly

  • Contribute to the team’s laboratory activities and project work

Your profile

  • You are currently studying for a Master’s degree in food technology, biotechnology, biochemistry, food chemistry, or a related field

  • You have practical laboratory experience in one of these areas

  • You have good knowledge of analytical methods and statistical data evaluation

  • You communicate confidently in German and English

  • You are highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently

  • You are also a collaborative team player with strong communication skills

Working conditions

This position is based on-site in Pohlheim, near Gießen, and involves approximately 38 hours of work per week.
