As a (Senior) Digital Implementation Specialist, you will work at the intersection of science, digitalization and collaboration, helping researchers and development teams translate needs into practical and sustainable digital solutions that create value across the organization.

You will join the newly formed Digital Enablement Team within PPD. PPD consists of more than 400 employees across six director areas and more than 10 geographical locations. The team brings together complementary capabilities within digital implementation, data engineering, AI and the broader PPD data landscape. Together, we are building a new team, defining how we work and establishing strong partnerships across PPD.

In this role, you will work closely with scientists, local digital teams and platform experts to strengthen digital foundations, enable reuse of successful solutions and support priorities that span areas, systems, data flows and locations.

The role & your impact

As a (Senior) Digital Implementation Specialist, you will play a key role in connecting scientific needs with scalable digital solutions. This is primarily a tactical implementation and optimization role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, structured problem-solving and the ability to coordinate efforts across multiple disciplines.

Your key responsibilities in this role

• Build trusted relationships with scientists and local digital teams to understand workflows, challenges and opportunities, and translate business and scientific needs into clearly defined problems, value cases and success measures that align with broader PPD priorities.
• Identify and shape the most appropriate solution paths by connecting stakeholders with relevant platforms, existing capabilities and specialist expertise, while promoting reuse of successful digital solutions across PPD where relevant.
• Coordinate implementation activities across local teams, technical specialists, platform owners and other key partners, ensuring alignment, managing dependencies and driving progress from idea to adoption.
• Enable sustainable adoption and ownership by building local capabilities, establishing clear governance, handover and lifecycle expectations, and adapting support to the needs and maturity of different areas.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role

• Relevant BSc or MSc degree within science, engineering, technology or a related field.
• Experience with digital implementation, workflow improvement, project coordination or similar disciplines.
• Experience working across functions and disciplines to move initiatives from identified needs to implementation and adoption.
• Sufficient technical understanding to collaborate effectively with data, software and platform specialists.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

You bring a structured approach to problem-solving and can create clarity in complex or ambiguous situations. You enjoy facilitating collaboration across teams and functions, helping people work together to achieve shared goals. You are adaptable and pragmatic, able to tailor your approach to different levels of digital maturity and changing circumstances. Most importantly, you are curious, eager to learn, and motivated by understanding scientific workflows and emerging technologies.

Additional skills & interests we value

Experience from scientific R&D environments or laboratory settings would be an advantage. Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and experience supporting organizational change, digital transformation or adoption initiatives are also valuable. We appreciate candidates who are interested in enabling data-driven decision-making and driving digital innovation. Knowledge of digital platforms that support scientific research and development would be considered a strong asset in this role.

Working conditions

The team operates in an office-first hybrid setup. We believe strong onsite collaboration is important for building relationships, understanding scientific workflows and working closely with stakeholders. At the same time, working from home is possible when compatible with team and project needs. Travel is expected to be limited and primarily connected to collaboration across PPD locations when required.
