Job Description Summary

The Regional Business Manager/First Line Sales Manager (FLM) is responsible for leading a high-performing sales team to deliver exceptional The Institutional Regional Business Manager/First Line Sales Manager (i-FLM) is responsible for leading a high-performing sales team to deliver exceptional customer engagement and achieve commercial objectives. This role requires strategic thinking, deep payer market knowledge and the ability to translate national strategies into effective local execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach the field team to deliver sales, productivity, and performance targets through in-field coaching, call planning, and execution excellence.
  • Develop and execute regional business plans aligned to brand strategy, including targeting, coverage, cycle plans, and quarterly priorities.
  • Drive compliant, evidence-based HCP engagement, strengthening disease knowledge, patient pathway understanding, and objection handling.
  • Use sales, prescription, and market insights to optimize targeting, improve effectiveness, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure strong brand execution and KPI governance across coverage, call quality, demand generation, and product availability.
  • Partner with Marketing, Medical, Value & Access, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to drive business growth and patient access.
  • Build team capability through coaching, onboarding, performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Develop KOLs, key accounts, institutions, and advocacy networks to sustain demand and business growth.
  • Support market access initiatives, formulary inclusion, institutional engagement, and address patient access barriers.
  • Own forecasting, business planning, budget management, reporting, and business hygiene.
  • Collaborate with trade and distribution partners to ensure product availability and inventory management.
  • Drive omnichannel execution while ensuring compliance, data quality, and approved content usage.
  • Monitor competition, clinical evidence, and market trends to drive local business actions.
  • Manage institutional business opportunities across ESI, Railways, Army, State Government, and other healthcare systems.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or related field; MBA/PGDM preferred.
  • 6-10 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably in Cardiovascular or Specialty therapies.
  • 2-4 years of people leadership experience with strong coaching and performance management capability.
  • Strong knowledge of compliant, scientific, and value-based customer engagement.
  • Experience in product launches, go-to-market execution, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office with high ethics and compliance orientation.
  • Prior CRM business experience preferred.
  • High field orientation with willingness to travel extensively.
