Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large‑scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000‑square‑foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled‑release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100+ products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for an AR&D Lab & Sample Coordinator to join our team. This role ensures the Analytical Laboratory is stocked and prepared for daily work to meet business needs and production schedules. It involves clerical tasks with some hands-on activities to maintain laboratory upkeep. The position requires strong organizational, computer, and communication skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot vendor or service provider issues. Responsibilities include managing orders, scheduling maintenance, and coordinating samples within Analytical R&D.

Shift: Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM
Location: Winchester, KY
100% Onsite

The Role

  • Ensure timely ordering, receiving, and stocking of all supplies.

  • Work with vendors to obtain best pricing and manage weekly vendor-managed inventory.

  • Request purchase orders through JD Edwards System and track approval and conversion process.

  • Expedite urgent orders and monitor backorders.

  • Inspect and verify supplies upon arrival and deliver to the Analytical Laboratory.

  • Resolve issues on accounting backorder log and obtain past-due vendor invoices.

  • Investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies.

  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet documentation for all chemicals and provide to the EHS Department.

  • Maintain sample room and controlled substance storage organization.

  • Coordinate samples within the lab and with outside testing facilities.

  • Assist with daily 5S activities and continuous improvement projects.

  • Correspond with suppliers and co-workers for required documents and maintain ordering files.

  • Take personal ownership of work and ensure a clean and safe working environment.

  • Work with the supervisor to maintain and organize lab space as needed.

  • Collaborate with project management and accounts team to communicate and send details of eligible rebilling items.

  • Perform other assigned duties.

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).

  • Ability to multitask with high efficiency.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain efficiency.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated performance regarding all lab safety processes and procedures, and ability to work safely with chemicals of varying potency.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • General computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory safety.

  • Ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, or walk for an extended period of time.

  • Specific vision requirements include reading written documents and frequent use of a computer monitor.
