About this role

Overview Summary The Director Sales & Marketing IAI/Dermatology Austria has overall responsibility for establishing, driving, and executing the Immunology & Autoimmune Inflammation (IAI)/Dermatology strategy in Austria. The role provides strategic and operational leadership for the IAI/Dermatology franchise, ensuring the successful commercialization of Opzelura in Vitiligo and the successful launch and reimbursement achievement of Opzelura in moderate Atopic Dermatitis (mAD), while preparing the organization for future IAI growth opportunities. The Commercial Lead builds, leads, develops, and inspires the local IAI/Dermatology team, creating a high-performing organization capable of delivering sustainable business growth and launch excellence. The role defines and executes the local franchise strategy, drives cross-functional execution across Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Value, Access & Policy (VAP), and ensures achievement of commercial objectives, market access goals, and long-term franchise growth. The role is accountable for maximizing the value of the current IAI/Dermatology portfolio, accelerating adoption of Opzelura across approved indications, and ensuring Austria is fully prepared for future launches and lifecycle opportunities. As a member of the Austrian Leadership Team, the Commercial Lead contributes actively to the overall development, performance, and organizational effectiveness of the Austrian affiliate beyond the IAI/Dermatology franchise. The Commercial Lead serves as the primary Austrian partner for the International and Regional IAI franchise teams, representing local business needs, market dynamics, and strategic opportunities while ensuring strong alignment between global priorities and local execution. Duties and Responsibilities IAI/Dermatology Franchise Leadership Lead the development and execution of the Austrian IAI/Dermatology strategy in alignment with regional and international objectives. Assume full commercial responsibility for the IAI/Dermatology franchise in Austria. Drive successful commercialization of Opzelura in Vitiligo and lead launch readiness, launch execution, and growth acceleration for Opzelura in moderate Atopic Dermatitis (mAD). Partner closely with VAP and Medical Affairs to secure and maximize reimbursement opportunities for mAD. Develop and implement long-term franchise, lifecycle, and customer engagement strategies across the IAI/Dermatology portfolio. Identify future growth opportunities within the IAI franchise and ensure organizational readiness for future products and indications. Represent Austrian business needs and market insights within Regional and International IAI franchise discussions. Act as the key strategic advisor to the General Manager on all IAI/Dermatology-related business matters. Commercial Strategy & Business Performance Develop and execute annual strategic and operational plans for the IAI/Dermatology franchise. Drive achievement of annual revenue, market share, reimbursement, and performance objectives. Deliver accurate forecasts, business assumptions, KPIs, and performance tracking. Drive accelerated uptake of Opzelura through effective customer engagement, stakeholder activation, and differentiated franchise execution. Lead customer segmentation, targeting, resource allocation, and engagement strategies. Monitor competitive dynamics and anticipate market developments within Dermatology and Immunology. Ensure effective allocation of resources and investments to maximize franchise performance. Identify, prioritize, and execute initiatives that accelerate growth and strengthen market positioning. Cross-Functional Leadership Lead and coordinate the local IAI/Dermatology cross-functional franchise team. Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs to ensure scientific excellence and impactful stakeholder engagement. Partner with VAP colleagues to define and execute pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategies. Support engagement with payers, decision-makers, and relevant authorities to optimize access and funding opportunities for the IAI portfolio. Ensure strong alignment and execution across Commercial, Medical, VAP, Regulatory, Compliance, Finance, and other relevant functions. Foster an agile, collaborative, and performance-oriented way of working across functions. Launch Excellence Lead local launch planning and execution for new indications, line extensions, and future IAI assets. Ensure readiness across commercial, medical, market access, operational, and customer-facing functions. Drive launch excellence through clear governance, accountability, and performance tracking. Continuously assess market evolution and adapt launch and growth strategies accordingly. Build organizational capabilities required to support future IAI growth. Leadership Team Contribution Serve as a member of the Austrian Leadership Team and actively contribute to the overall development, performance, and strategic direction of the affiliate. Collaborate with fellow Leadership Team members to drive organizational effectiveness, talent development, business performance, and a strong affiliate culture. Contribute beyond the IAI/Dermatology franchise to support Incyte Austria's long-term growth ambitions. Act as the primary Austrian representative towards Regional and International IAI franchise leadership. Ensure Austrian customer insights, market dynamics, launch learnings, and strategic priorities are appropriately reflected in regional and international decision-making processes. Drive strong alignment between global franchise strategy and local execution. Support organizational change, capability building, and continuous improvement initiatives across the affiliate. People Leadership & Culture Lead, coach, and develop the local IAI/Dermatology organization. Build a culture of accountability, high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning. Provide strategic guidance and development support to franchise team members. Foster strong engagement and alignment with Incyte's values and leadership principles. Build, develop, and retain top talent while creating succession opportunities within the organization. Act as a role model for collaboration, integrity, inclusion, and business excellence. External Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with dermatologists, immunologists, key opinion leaders, scientific experts, healthcare stakeholders, and relevant decision-makers. Strengthen Incyte's position as a trusted partner in IAI/Dermatology in Austria. Represent Incyte and the IAI/Dermatology franchise at national and international congresses, scientific meetings, and educational events. Ensure strong and compliant external visibility for Opzelura and the broader IAI franchise. Support scientific exchange and educational initiatives that contribute to improved patient care and disease awareness. Governance & Compliance Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, and company policies. Promote a strong culture of ethics, integrity, compliance, and patient focus. Ensure appropriate review, approval, and governance of all commercial activities and materials. Contribute positively to a culture of business integrity and ethical decision-making. Requirements Degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline. Minimum 8–10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Significant experience within a retail healthcare setting, preferably in IAI/Dermatology, Immunology, Specialty Care, or related therapeutic areas. Proven track record in product launches, including launch preparation, launch execution, and post-launch growth acceleration. Strong Sales Management and Marketing experience with demonstrated success in developing and executing brand strategies. Strong people leadership skills with a proven ability to build, develop, coach, and inspire high-performing teams. Demonstrated ability to lead organizations through periods of growth, change, launch, and market expansion. Solid understanding of the Austrian healthcare environment and reimbursement landscape. Market Access experience is highly desirable. Proven ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams and complex business initiatives. Strong commercial acumen with experience in forecasting, budgeting, performance management, and KPI tracking. Highly strategic thinker with a strong execution focus and ability to translate strategy into action. Structured and disciplined way of working with strong planning, prioritization, and project management capabilities. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills. Entrepreneurial mindset, resilience, and agility in a dynamic environment.
